Good product but not for Canon 24-105 f/4L

I bought this based on the lens distortion recommendation for my Canon 24-105 f/4L. While this stopped the lens from rolling, it made the zoom extremely narrow, too narrow for my liking. On a lens with a smaller body I see that as a big help, but not on this lens. I bought a 3" ID O-ring, which while not as flat as the lens strip, is much easier to use on the zoom, and the lens is gone.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Out of fashion

reduce creep. for camera and photography

I bought a used FE-S 17-55 f2.8 lens from a local camera store. As it was a great price and the lens was very clean I couldn't say no. The only downside to the lens was that the zoom on the lens would slip when turned upside down. I needed a solution and relied on lens tape. The black color makes it camouflaged on the lens and completely reduces zoom creep. I am completely satisfied with the lens strap and can recommend it to everyone.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Reliable

An economical solution for diffusing lenses.

$7.50 is a lot less than it would cost me to find a new non-zoom lens, if it even existed. This is the perfect solution to something that has been driving me nuts for years. I use it on the AFS Nikkor 18-200mm zoom. I now have some flat art photos at 50mm and now that I know the lens will stay in the same position for a period of time I'm very happy. Many thanks to the developer of this simple but great solution. !

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Vanish

Works great with my 17-55mm EF-S f2

Works great with my 17-55mm EF-S f2.8. This lens has some of the worst lens creep. However, this band is not perfect (at least for this lens). You will find that you have to adjust the band at a certain point to make it work properly. This is due to the narrow distance between the focus ring and the zoom ring. As said, maybe only for this lens, but this allows the strip to touch the focus ring if not positioned correctly. If it touches the focus ring, then both the focus ring and zoom ring move

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

A simple idea that works

There is a book Why Didn't I Write That. These are deceptively simple or obvious ideas turned into books. This is a product that falls into the same category. This is an elastic band that corrects a design flaw. period, end of story. I use it on a Nikon 18-200 zoom lens - a good lens but it has a lens creep problem. Nikon released version 2 of the lens and it has one thing that keeps the lens from slipping, but as another reviewer pointed out, Nikon's new zoom lock only works at 18mm…

Pros
  • Everyone likes it so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
