Description of Leviton GFNL2 W SmartlockPro Tamper Resistant Receptacle: Safety & Convenience Combined

Sensor provides automatic on/off based on ambient lighting. Energy-efficient guide light uses approx. 1W of electricity - no bulbs to replace. Saves space by eliminating the need to use an outlet for a plug-in night light. For an added layer of protection, the GFCI regularly conducts an automatic internal test to confirm that it can respond to a ground fault. Patented lockout action prevents reset if GFCI is damaged and cannot respond to a ground fault. Slim, shallow design - reduced depth makes it easier to install. Wallplate sold separately

This is an electrical outlet. It works. But you are specifically looking for the built-in night light in this item. The world is terrible! Firstly, it is a very offensive color with a temperature of 6000K. This color is good for daylight/daytime lighting, but any night light should not be higher than 3700K, otherwise it will hurt your eyes at night. 2700k would be best. Second: light stroboscopes! It's so bad that I had to remove it after a few days. just stay away Look elsewhere!

Pros
  • Wall plate sold separately
Cons
  • narrow

Cool concept, but maybe not quite ready for prime time?

I bought 2 packs. The electrician installed the 1st and it looked perfect. I tried to test the lighting function, couldn't get it to work. Turns out the GFIC wasn't working either, even though the light was on. He checked the installation and saw nothing wrong. Then he installed the second one and it worked as expected. I contacted Leviton support (that in itself was a headache) and after a few weeks of waiting they asked me to send it back for review. Truth? I wouldn't buy it again or…

Pros
  • Patented latching feature prevents reset when GFCI is damaged and unable to respond to ground fault
Cons
  • Ugly package

What you need but expensive!

My apartment has odd wiring and required a 20A GFCI in the guest bathroom with a night light that does not illuminate the room. This Leviton socket fitted the bill, and its thin profile made it very easy to replace the old one. I noticed that the load and charge leads are reversed on this model compared to the old GFCI as well as the Leviton it replaced. Cooler. I have two of these in my master bathroom plugged into this GFCI outlet: talk about weird wiring! The only reason I'm deducting a star

Pros
  • Saves space by not requiring an outlet for a plug in night light
Cons
  • Discarded
