Too bulky. in Accessories

I really liked the idea of this machine, but when I took it out of the box I was quite disappointed. I don't want to clog my handlebars anymore and this charger has a bulky package that it plugs into, an extra USB port and an on/off switch. I assumed it was just a pad that plugs into a USB or 12V cigarette lighter just from looking at the photos and using the wireless charger earlier. I was wrong. If it worked like that, it would be great. The charging pad fits my mount perfectly

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • There are flaws

Under assembly for intended use.

Unit worked well out of the box but was not rated for high vibration (motorcycle) conditions. The one I bought broke after less than a month of use. The cause of the failure was two large chokes breaking off the circuit board. They had to be attached to the board with epoxy but were only held on with pins. The second thing that worries me is the amount of heat generated by the smaller module next to the charging pad. It gets almost so hot you can burn yourself. I wouldn't recommend this unless…

Works perfectly! (So far)

It's been about 2 months now. Easy to mount directly on the phone holder. For simplicity, I started by using the fairing's cigarette lighter socket as the power source. At the end I will route the wires to the battery terminals. In terms of performance, the charger fulfills the advertised performance. It charges my phone quickly and works flawlessly. My acid test; I was driving from northwest Indiana to central Ohio in pretty decent rain. My Samsung phone is waterproof and this wireless charger

Great way to minimize cable connections

Let me start by saying that the product works 8 times out of 10 for me. You have to turn the charger on and off, it can be a problem if you forget to turn off the charger (I personally didn't, but woke up at midnight to check). A simple USB connection would make this product great, but the only option is to hardwire the charger to the battery. I'm mechanically inclined and can plug in a charger, but if USB is already installed it might be plug and play. I would give this product a 3.5 for a…

  • Some cons

I paired this with a U-bolt RAM quick grip on the handlebars, although it's for X-mount. The box comes with decent installation hardware. It is only attached to the provided bracket with 3M tape. I had to use velcro to attach the changing pad to the RAM attachment I was using as the underside of the liner and attachment didn't extend out and didn't match; so the 3M tape wasn't very useful for my application, it buckled and fell off because the space at the bottom of the gasket and the rubber…

Good charger but agree with others on the box.

Feels good, I tested it first before connecting it to my S9+ with the bike that has a Spigen Kickstand case, works well. My complaint is the same as others, it's the controller box. It's about a foot and a half from the charger, so hiding it under my seat isn't an option. It has an extra USB port and power button, but it feels and looks a little cheap. I wonder how it will stand up to the weather and water when mounted on my rods. The cables going from there to the charger are 4 conductors so I

overheat in seconds. Doesn't work for more than a few seconds.

Well I had high hopes for this but it just doesn't work. The real Qi charger part needs to be glued to your Ram mount, making it impossible to swap between vehicles unless you want a large dangling cord dangling from your rig. If you don't glue it, it's impossible to put the phone in the right place for the charger to feel it. But that doesn't matter because as soon as charging starts, the white light box gets insanely hot, the light starts flashing and then stops charging. It was completely…
