I proceeded to install the product with a new spring only to find that the spring was not the same gauge as the factory spring and had less tension. The magnet is not strong enough to keep the washing machine door closed. I even contacted LG directly who sent a free replacement part but the same scenario is too weak to keep the door closed. In the end I pulled the magnet out of the broken piston and put it in the new piston. It worked! I had to cut out a small bar in the middle so it would sit low enough to use the spring. Whoever built this didn't put enough or the right magnet in it. My old one, which had a piece of plastic broken off and wouldn't stay in the door, was a lot heavier, pulled the door out and held it. I thought when I held it it was a lot lighter than the old one. This is the correct piece as it is identical to the old one except for the strength of the magnet.
