Liberty Love: Delightful Projects Showcasing Exquisite Liberty of London Fabrics Review

I don't buy many printed books anymore because I'm a bit of a minimalist. This is full of great projects, lots of useful information and wonderful materials in pictures!

This is a wonderful book in its finished form. Most of the projects in this beautiful book, including the beautiful Marcel medallion quilt, require a folio of tissue paper pieces. The copy I just received doesn't come with a sample folio, so I don't recommend buying it.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! I fell in love with the medallion quilt and couldn't wait for the book to arrive so I could start cutting the fabric. There are NO patterns in this book! For everything! No clothes. No blankets. No funny gifts for others. It's useless! $25 for a picture book. Very disappointed!

Several reviewers indicated that the sample sheets were missing. My copy is gone too. It's funny that copies are sold without them. They are referenced throughout the book, and the authors and editors clearly intend to make the sample sheets a part of what the customer is buying.

I met the author in sewing class and just love her and her book. In class we were taught many simple patterns to make at home. I bought the book and with the help of my mother (better me, seamstress) we made some cute things for my kids. There are both simple and complex patterns, so something for beginners and novices alike. The author was a fantastic teacher and I really enjoyed going to her.

I have to admit I've always loved Liberty fabrics and prints. So my love for the drawings in this book was greatly influenced by the use of Liberty prints. I think Marseille medallions and handbag patterns are my favorite designs. I don't often buy sample books so this is a waste for me. I usually buy textbooks. I don't often make blankets from patterns either. So I can't tell you how simple or complex the patterns for a patchwork quilt are. But I did read the instructions for the classic…
