I gave 4 stars because it didn't fit the axle as the description said so I just put it on the bottom bolt on one of my rear shocks fastened

Perfect for my float project. The hole is the right size and looks very solid. I would recommend adding rubber o-rings to the mount to eliminate platter vibration and potentially snap the mount.

To be honest I didn't expect this part to be of such quality! Very thick metal and good paintwork! However, if you decide to use a lightweight mount, be aware that the screws will protrude and this will make flush mounting the panel a pain!

Many license plate holders are made of flimsy materials, but not this one! It's strong and sturdy, perfect for side plates. The only recommendation would be to take some washers, the hole was a bit big to install them. It would probably be fine, but the washers fit no problem.

Good solid block. Seems well built and has a tab for light which I didn't use. I also had to modify it to fit a '96 Sportster. You can see where I cut out some of it. This must be done to match the shock absorber. It was possible to fit a shock absorber, but the hole is too big. If you use it on a Sportster it will need to be trimmed. It was good for the price.

The first review I wrote. But I had to do it for this little unit. Bought for a '99 HD Sportster Custom. Straight bolt on the bottom bolt of the shock absorber. Took maybe 5 minutes including opening the beer. I used to buy another one that needed finishing, plus it was in two pieces, plus it felt like a fragile piece of metal, plus it cost more. This thing is an anchor. Thick caliber, solid and cheap! I don't plan on using a light mount, but will bring one in case I need a thick piece of metal
