If you're looking for a soft, minimalist shoe without the kids' price tag, this is a good substitute. They're faux leather rather than natural leather, so feet sweat more than real shoes, but socks are fine. The insoles move a lot, so we ended up just taking them out. They are still comfortable and well suited for toddlers' first shoes. We love sticks and these are quality shoes but not worth it when the baby outgrows the stuff every three months! These lidanos are a great sub!

They hold up amazingly well once you figure out how to put them on your kid's crooked fingers. I ordered size 12-18 months for my 14 month old baby who is just starting to walk. Her foot size is 4.5 inches and they fit snug but snug. I suspect she will outgrow them soon but that's fine as these were the cheapest soft soled toddler shoes I could find. They're a bit difficult to put on when she bends her legs or isn't cooperating, but one day they seem light/comfortable enough not to bother her.
