Filters 5 liters of tap water and won't clog indefinitely

This is my first review of an Amazon purchase. I have had an account since 2011. I've bought many products that I didn't like, but not enough to write a review. The concept for this is very good. I followed the instructions for backwashing the filter regularly, but I was only able to fill my 3 liter water bladder with tap water twice before the white membrane filter closed completely and was no longer letting through. I used it for a trip to Ecuador and it's fine if you're spending $35 on a…

Safety First - Drink anything you want

I bought a LifeStraw Flex to prepare for a recent trip into the TN/NC countryside. Walked 26.2 miles on the Appalachian Trail. I didn't want to carry around a large bladder so I got a flexible one. Pros: - super light - takes up very little space in each pack - decent volume per bottle - great price - seen many, many Lifestraw products being used on the AT. Therefore, they are clearly trusted. Flexibility in using straws. Cons: Squeezing water out of a bottle to fill other people's bottles can…

LifeStraw FLEX - LifeStraw is great, FLEX not so good

Just got it and started experimenting with it. Keep in mind that the active part of this kit, LifeStraw, could be a five star product on its own. The part of FLEX that you pay extra money for has two design issues. Problem #1: When you squeeze a FLEXible water bottle, unfiltered water drips out of the threads on top of the flexible bottle and around the filter. You can hold the top of the filter in such a way that filtered water will fall into the cup and dirty water will drip onto any surface…
