Affordable and good quality

The product was exactly as supplied from the factory, maybe it was. It was easy to install and worked great on my 2016 Kia Optima when the existing latch stopped working.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not sure

Electrically unresponsive

Purchased 1st Installed. Dead. Should be an outlier. Get the 2nd Furnished. Dead. I figured it might not be installed properly so I bought a Hyundai latch. Furnished. Ideal. Remain OEM.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Reliability

Does not work with keychain

Changed twice. Every part worked after connecting. I plugged in the original and it responded to the keychain; So the electricity works fine. However, I have to leave one so I can lock the trunk. I can still use it with the key to open the trunk. It is best to buy a factory original.

Pros
  • Sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Upgrade availability

May not unlock! fits engines

It fit and worked fine until I locked the door. The cable lock on the latch held the cable too tight and prevented the lock from moving far enough to unlock. Bending the cable lever on the latch fixed it. Make sure it works before closing the tailgate. In the picture of the new latch you can see that the space is not open to allow the lever to move to open the latch.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Review Update in Power Door Lock

This product was easy to install by following the U-tube through the 2016 Kia Sorento trunk lock. Initially I had to use the key to manually open the truck as the key fob and door knob didn't work. After some time of troubleshooting it turned out that when I reconnected the electrical component (a simple clip) I had pinched one of the connectors. Once I made up my mind, I adjusted and reconnected. Now everything works as described. would buy again

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I'll write later

Replacement for Hyundai Sonata 2014

We had a 'broken' latch (it turned out a screw had been hammered into the actuator causing it not to open), and we had to break him out. We installed this part which fixed the problems. AMAZING, I thought, but there was a catch. It does not open electronically. After looking at it a bit, it turned out that one of the electrical connectors on this part was bent, so it wasn't working properly. I could see the light in the trunk was off so I knew the unit was not getting power. Once we bent theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Defective - don't worry and buy an OEM Hyundai assembly

Looks like a direct replacement for my 2014 Hyundai. Upon installation I found that the electric motor/actuator was dead. My advice: save yourself the headache and pay the extra money for a genuine Hyundai part. Hyundai also comes with a plastic clip that secures the cable to the trunk lid - you'll break it if you remove the old one. It is easy to install - use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the trunk trim latches. (Only the left side and one direction right of the mechanism). Disconnect theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Unusable features
