I tried this zip wick and it didn't absorb liquid very well. It works, but it takes a few hits to ignite. They seem to use up faster than the original but I have plenty of them!

See, there are many wicks. But these wicks don't absorb lighter fluid for long. I literally change the wick every day, it sucks tugging on the wick every time I light it.

More wick than I ever need for my Zippo. I ended up buying a Zippo signature set of wicks and flints for my Zippo lighter. However, this wick will last a lifetime and looks like it could be used with my zip if needed.

The wick is NOT cotton and copper but some type of plastic core (TWISTED INTO COTTON WITH COPPER WIRE) which does not efficiently transfer fuel through the wick and easily breaks when attempting to break the wick to stretch out a lighter. Don't buy, complete junk.

I used this product on a Zippo that I am restoring. It took me 10 minutes to even get the wick into a position where I could pull it through and when I pulled it through the copper wire pulled and turned the whole damn wick up. Only buy genuine Zippo products, not that 100's junk.

The wick is NOT made of cotton and copper, it is a type of plastic core (converted into cotton with copper wire) which does not transport fuel efficiently through the wick and breaks easily. when trying to pull the wick through the lighter. Don't buy, complete junk.

I've read a lot of bad reviews about these wicks with a plastic center, but the wicks I received definitely don't have plastic. They work fantastic for me although they make the flame quite big but that's a plus for me considering I mostly use them outside.

The wicks I received have a fiberglass core surrounded by a woven cotton sleeve with brass wires. The core is NOT made of plastic. See for yourself by setting a sample kernel on fire. It turns into a glass bead but doesn't burn like plastic. Fiberglass is an excellent and durable material for making a wick. These wicks have four advantages over Zippo wicks.
