Everything you need is included

This is a solid little unit for outdoor installation (only installed indoors or at the entrance of a building). I didn't test it because there is no lighting to test haha!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Minor bugs

easy installation optimal in socket strips and surge protection

good value for money. BUT, just make sure what kind of connection you need (male/female etc.). The kit does not include instructions or ground wire. No information is given or offered for a replaceable arrester insert. A search on the Internet will therefore be useful to you.

Pros
  • regular price
Cons
  • socket required

Good product for surge protectors

I have used this product with an RCA preamp to help RCA live longer. Lightning is the force that destroys the preamp. The device drains excess charge to earth. (Yes, you grounded it to a ground rod with a copper wire via the included clamp). I've had several storms since installation; So far, so good. This type of technology has been used in commercial and amateur radio for decades. 73 God bless you. K5EWM.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Functionality

The first one was defective

The first thing I received was defective. The signal dropped to 10% of normal level. Revain replaced it and the second new one had no noticeable reduction in signal strength. So test the signal after installation just to make sure you haven't screwed it up. Otherwise it looks like a solid and well-made device and as mentioned above it didn't negatively affect the signal. I took this to replace a very old lower spec surge protector.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • No

Looks good in the Accessories and Consumables section

Hope it never gets tested Ground wire about 2 feet long. from an 8 foot grounding rod. The ground wire is 8 gauge and attaches to the ground rod with a ground clamp. From there it goes to the coax ground block and through the ground lug and onto the down conductor. Use the grounding clamps instead of the small grommet provided, a real lightning strike will burn right through this grommet leaving you ungrounded before the discharge is over.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Low repairability

It appears to be of solid construction

I purchased this surge arrester after a lightning strike near our home damaged our cable modem. Even though I installed whole-house surge protection in the main electrical panel and the cable modem and router were protected by an APC UPS, the modem was still damaged and needed to be replaced. The only connection to the modem that wasn't secure was the coaxial line. I connected this unit to the house coax and mounted it in a 4" x 4" universal waterproof box as shown in the pictures. Pros
  • 4. Lightning protection should be installed as close as possible to the equipment to be protected, often at the point where the coaxial cable enters the building. They can also be installed near the antenna for added protection
Cons
  • Very expensive

Makes a well-made and solid impression.

Was glad to find these affordable F-type lightning rods. I use them for 4G LTE cellular antennas running over 75ohm RG6 cables. Yes, I know the spec says I should use a 50 ohm cable, but I'm not doing it out of purely personal preference. I would give these surge arresters a full 5 stars except for one fact: the included ground screw is too long and does not tighten when grounded. tip (or a ground strap, for that matter). Because the screws have thin threads, it's quite difficult to find the…

Pros
  • 5. DC bypass for external powering of amplifiers and LNA
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

Use: Surge suppressor for terrestrial TV antenna. (I have 120ft coax from my 24ft antenna tower to the entry point to my house (see tower picture)) DC Pass Compatible for Winegard LNA Boost XT HDTV Preamp: I have had no noticeable signal loss. I know this because I measured the signal strength before and after installation. Quality: incredibly well built; It's heavy, durable and very well made. This is really a quality product. Why I love this product: I love the gas fuse, which should blow if…

Pros
  • 3. It has a replaceable gas discharge element with high surge performance and bi-directional protection (90V gas tube discharge)
