I bought this item twice because the vase I needed it for was too big and looked empty with a set of branches. The first had some thin branches that were brittle and broke easily, but I was just careful when handling it (some of them still broke). However, when I received the second one and carefully opened the box, all the thick branches broke, they are not even that easy to break and somehow they all broke in half (see photo). They were good in the floor vases I had on either side of the fireplace but I needed a third set as the first two were very unbalanced Looks. One set contained 3 unlit branches and the other set only 1. This is in addition to the 4 lit branches in each set. Obviously, the number of unlit branches in the set is random. I really like these but there are a few things to know. First, it is correct that everyone is talking about extreme fragility. Luckily mine arrived intact and well packaged. I ordered 2 because it seemed like one wasn't enough to look good on its own and I'm glad I did. You really need 2, otherwise it looks pretty fragile.
