Description of πŸ”¬ Micro LimeNET

LimeNET Micro makes deploying wireless networks more accessible than ever before, by extending the LimeNET line of integrated hardware solutions via an ultra-low cost platform that is capable of supporting narrowband systems, such as GSM and IoT wireless standards, in a stand-alone configuration. As with existing integrated LimeNET platforms, the new LimeNET Micro is built on the very same revolutionary field-programmable RF (FPRF) technology and features the LMS7002M transceiver at its heart. However, this highly cost-optimized, single board solution also integrates GPS for high-accuracy timing, active Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), and embedded compute for fully standalone operation. In utilizing the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3+, LimeNET Micro builds on previous platforms to further democratize wireless networks in much the same way that the Raspberry Pi has democratized embedded computing. Given its incredibly low price point and highly integrated nature, there are endless application possibilities for LimeNET Micro, ranging from cellular networks and IoT, through spectrum monitoring, test and measurement, amateur radio, and radio astronomy.

No GPS module, Wi-Fi module or USB driver installed.

Besides the two missing modules, the instructions are ambiguous (USB driver instructions are missing, pointing to another product that has a different/incompatible USB port) Finally, the included software refuses to run at all (the installer will not running) on Windows 11 with a bunch of errors. As a result, I was left with a $349.99 device that did not have two declared modules, drivers and software. Not cool.

Pros
  • With the Raspberry Pi 3+ Compute Module, LimeNET Micro builds on previous platforms to further democratize wireless networking, much like the Raspberry Pi democratized embedded computing.
Cons
  • For a long time

Irritated. The seller is not familiar with the goods.

The product is excellent, the seller is not very good. DO NOT use 12V to power v2.1 boards as recommended by this seller. They will burn ic33 or something like that. Recommended 5V, maximum 6V. This is fully documented on Lime's website. MyriadRFI has now lost $350 due to the seller's negligence.

Pros
  • With its incredibly low price and high level of integration, the uses of LimeNET Micro are endless, from cellular networks and the Internet of Things to spectrum monitoring, test and measurement, amateur radio and radio astronomy.
Cons
  • Without insurance

In addition to the two missing modules, the instructions are not entirely clear (USB driver instructions are missing, pointing to another product that has a different/incompatible USB connector type) Finally, the accompanying software refuses to run all ( Installer won't run) on Windows 11 with a bunch of errors. As a result, I was left with a $349.99 device that did not have two declared modules, drivers and software. Not cool.
