the light is great, the size could be better

I have 8 of these monsters, they are bright, they are not quite 65k, but they do their job, the adjustable white balance usually does the Trick. These things are huge! That's the only downside, I bought it from Adorama, with the same specs but with a much smaller base and lamp. If any of this fails, I'll replace it with Adorama's version of Flashpoint. Don't get me wrong, the light is great, the size could be better, 8 pieces take up a lot of space, so smaller is better.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others

Amazingly bright for $$, about the size of a small child

They offer amazingly clear and bright light. Here in the land of the clouds (Seattle) it's better than daylight! Other reviewers aren't kidding when they say you can't fit it into a regular setup. Although the lamp base is standard size and screwable, the lamp itself is the size of a newborn. Compare your little one to the device you intend to use them in before deciding if it's right for you! However, I would buy it again and again as the artificial daylight would be awesome once our days are…

GIGANTIC! BRIGHT! REAL 65K!

These bulbs are massive and bright. Look at my photos. I use them as grow lights in the garden so I can't speak about the photographic aspect of their work. I can tell they want to look at the sun. They arrive in a box about 4 feet long. I had no idea how gigantic lightbulbs are. They heat up. You can touch the lightbulb, but holding it will burn you. They produce light very close to 65K. Light reflected off the wall looks like light coming through a window from the sun. We'll see how long they

Short lifespan - but was promptly replaced.

Two lightbulbs arrived 3 months ago and one has already failed. He showed burning at one end of the tube - overheating. Good pears but should last longer. Looking closely at these (and other brands of CFL bulbs) I see that sometimes the vents are completely blocked by a plastic plug, a defect that can lead to overheating. This is a manufacturing defect. Ventilation slots must be cleaned during assembly. I recommend anyone with these bulbs to check the vents for clogs. Cleaning it allows the…

I have been using them for many years and they are very good.

. I use them for jewelry photography. My dad bought me a pair maybe 4 years ago and I have used them from time to time to take thousands of photos. I hope the quality is the same as it was then. I paid for shipping and after tax I'm looking at around $20 for a lamp - which to be honest is a steal. If you only use these lights when you're ready to take a picture, they should last a very long time. . They are also very good for videos. Attached are two product photos that I took with these…

Pros
  • Fits me perfectly.
Cons
  • . No instructions.
