A locksmith told me that Fords often require the key fob to match the part number exactly. Since this one is generic and doesn't have a part number, there's no way of knowing if it will work until they try to program it. In the end it turned out to be incompatible with my car and I had to return it. I ended up searching and found the exact part number on another site.

I took this remote to the dealer to have it reprogrammed That failed, they still charged me $130 for programming and said the quality of the steel would damage their key machine. So you wouldn't cut the key out of the kit. Instead I went to the locksmith He. You could only program one of the two remote controls. They confirmed that the remote failure rate is about 50%. First off, this key looks exactly like mine original factory key and actually feels higher quality! Even with a small Ford emblem sticker on the back.
