PSU Required: 5.5 x 2.5mm 5V 2A positive

Once I found the PSU (5.5 x 2.5mm 5V 2A positive) this thing is pretty orderly. I'm working on reprogramming it so it doesn't need the cloud, but it worked right away. There's more to come!

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • No mold required

I'm very happy and excited about this device

I've been using it for a day or two now. It took a bit of fiddling to flash with my own .ino. There are countless copy and paste guides online showing how to do this. I've never tried connecting directly to it or downloading an app, so I can't comment on the software side of this device. I was only interested in writing code for it myself. I wish they would break out more pins for sensors etc. You can solder some onto yourself as the leads are exposed at 12. It's a good price too. You can't buy

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Everything great

Outstanding best among single board computers

At this price point 4 relays on one board with an ESP8266 chip can't be beat. As others have said, the onboard software is rubbish. I flashed it with Tasmota and just integrated it with Home Assistant to control my watering.

Pros
  • Keeping my fists
Cons
  • old

In general, the board works well. The included racks are easy to work with and it was easy to flash the board with Tasmota. The socket is not a standard size for 5V power supplies. The big disadvantage of this board is that the 3rd relay on the board chirps when the power is switched on. It pulls high at boot and I've tried a few things and can't stop the 3rd relay from jumping at startup.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • A number of factors

Excellent for computers and accessories

At this price you can't beat the 4 relays installed on a board with an ESP8266 chip. As others have said, the onboard software is rubbish. I flashed it with Tasmota and just integrated it with Home Assistant to control my watering.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

In general the board works fine.

Pros
  • So far everything looks like this
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

Uses custom power plug

Who ever decided to use a 5.5 x 2.5mm plug in this thing? All adapters in the civilized world use 5.5x2.1mm, but LinkSprite went either cheap (they had a cheap batch of non-standard adapters) or special. Either way, this usually means either buying a custom power supply (and waiting for it), or desoldering the power connector and soldering the power supply directly to the board. Any solution sucks. The usual testimonials also apply: The built-in software is absolute rubbish, but works with…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Something's wrong
