Works exactly as expected

I needed a KVM switch that would allow me to switch between a Dell E6400 and a Mac Pro with a 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor. After a lot of research I decided to try this Belkin device. It worked right out of the box. The only problem I'm having is trying to get the full 2560x1600 resolution from the Dell Port Replicator. Turns out I also had to buy a DisplayPort to dual DVI adapter to get 2560 x 1600. It wasn't a Belkin issue, it was a Dell issue, Belkin also came with all the cables which was a…

Works as promised - no complaints!

I ordered this Belkin KVM Switch after reading dozens of other horrible reviews of all the switches out there. In particular, I needed dual-link DVI capability and very high resolutions (e.g. 30-inch LCD with a resolution of 2560 x 1600). The device worked exactly as promised - no problems. My mouse lost the "back button" function and I lost the volume/track controls on my keyboard, but that's to be expected as they are non-standard (be careful!).

  • Rugged Construction
Cons

Good product when it works

The original unit that was sent to me had some sort of shielding issue which (believe it or not) caused it to affect my Wi-Fi network disturbed. If that wasn't enough, it stopped working at all when I tried setting up the remote switch option (using keyboard shortcuts to switch computers). The new device they sent seems to work fine, although I'm willing to try setting up the key control feature again. Belkin is generally a good company, maybe I just got my first whistle.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Does not work with programmable keyboards.

Soho does not work with Avant Stellar (Northgate) or Logitech programmable keyboards. This is the fourth DVI/USB KVM I've bought (Trendnet, IO Gear, and the cheaper Belkin model) and none of them have worked. They only work with standard 101-117 keyboards and not the additional F and G keys. What frustrates me is that I had trouble contacting Belkin CS to ensure Soho would work with my configuration. I was told yes. After receiving it, Belkin CS told me no it won't. Logitech support informed me

It says it supports WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution - good.

It says it supports WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440) - well, that's just theory. After connecting to a WQHD monitor, the screen flickers regularly. And when you try to play a game, the screen flickers even more until you can't see anything. As soon as you connect the monitor directly to the card, everything will return to normal. So if you're looking for a true KVM with WQHD support, look elsewhere. I personally will try IOGEAR One.

Extremely disappointed and upset with the product

Extremely disappointed and upset with the product. I got the first one and it didn't transfer the video to the second monitor. I sent it back to Revain and they quickly sent me a replacement. It worked up until the date I was able to return it to Revain and then the mouse and keyboard stopped responding after a few minutes to an hour. GARBAGE. I'll be contacting Belkin to see if they honor the device's 3 year warranty, but it looks like other buyers of this product have been told it's their…
