Amazing wireless router

This router is amazing. We are a big family of 8, we all have phones, a few tablets in the house, XBOX, PS4, Dish Network Hopper, we study at home and use laptops for that and I work from home. It's unusual to have 35 devices on our network. I had two routers to handle all the traffic, but they were interfering with each other and I kept having to reboot one or the other. Eventually I got frustrated and bought this router and WOW, this thing handles all our traffic with absolutely no lag. No…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Annoying

Didn't last 1 year on networking products

Bought 12/31/17, worked fine but started to tremble (visitors couldn't log into guest access, devices didn't stay on wifi etc), finally died completely yesterday (08/28/18). Contacted my ISP who checked and confirmed it was Toast. I will resend for a refund. If anyone has information on the best way to get my $ back please let me know.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • weak

2.4G band not working as others have mentioned

Shortly after setting up this router the 2.4 band went out, then came on and then disappeared forever. Reset router, looked at all settings, nothing. I have many devices that don't work with 5G, so I need 2.4G. Then I saw that other commenters had the same problem and sent it back. It looks like they really need to sort this out. Also, the phone app didn't sync properly with the router when it came to parental controls, rendering it unusable unless it was on a desktop.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Let me start by saying that I've been configuring routers since 1988. And I've been a Linksys fan since before they were acquired by Cisco. I used open source software to create large mesh networks using an old WRT54G. This is an expensive and clearly powerful router. And I've never seen anything like it. This is the most sophisticated piece of consumer electronics I have ever come across. This is what happens when you give children access to compilers. It's so "smart" that you just can't tweak

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
