Lipper International 1174 Serving Diameter Review

My bowl doesn't look like the picture. See the beautiful combination of light and dark accents ranging from sandy brown to almost black? natural texture? A wavy wood structure that makes every detail unique? Fine hole curvature? My bowl has none of these features. I knew there would be some differences, but my bowl looks (and feels) like it's made out of plastic. It's so boring compared to the picture. Beautiful bowl as described. Ours is smooth and free of splinters (as mentioned in previous comments) and the wood texture is fine just like the picture. I treated it with John Taylor Butcher Block Conditioner because we use the peel to store fresh fruit until it's ripe. This way I hope the moisture from the fruit doesn't damage the wood. It's big enough to hold a lot of fruit, which is good, and if we decide to use it as a salad bowl, a large salad fits in, which is enough for a large company.

I liked the "wavy" look of this bowl, which I also bought in a large size. I've provided a few photos which I hope will dispel any future "it's smaller than it looks/I expected". etc. The bowl is the size given in the description and hopefully my photos will help people who have a hard time imagining just from the measurements.
