This is my first gesso so can't compare to other brands. I used this in an adult coloring book to prepare the paper for a humid environment. I drew a few test pages and let them dry (little time, but I live in a warm climate). The page feels rough, almost like sandpaper, it definitely added some teeth to the paper.
