Made in China.: Tool Kits

Item was not made in the USA as I expected from Lisle. Had I known it was made in China (despite the answer to the question above) I would not have bought it. Otherwise, the finish is consistent and appealing; Although it's black, it clearly says it's not intended for impact use because it's not intended for anything other than removing plastic oil filter housings.

Great for professional mechanics, great for weekend mechanics.

Perfect tool. I am a trained workshop mechanic. I lost my old one and got tired of buying expensive tool carts. A socket is a socket. It will be hard to break if you only use it to service the oil filter. I never see myself hurt. This is good quality. But even in the worst case, it will tear. It was just under $5. So no damage, no foul. Ideal for professionals and weekend mechanics.

Great oil change tool to have at home

Benefits: Fits my Equinox and Cobalt oil filters, protects the cap from damage when removed with paper clips or a non-specialized tool, tight enough to work without slipping , makes the process of removing and installing is easier. Cons: Requires an oscillating joint to work effectively. This is a great tool that I highly recommend if you plan on doing your own oil changes. However, in many car models you definitely need a toggle joint to get to the socket with a wrench. I would recommend this…

Great for removing GM oil filter caps

I was having a really hard time removing the oil filter cap from my HHR when changing the oil. My regular 32mm head that I have for the bike was too big to fit in and getting a wrench at this point was a pain in the back, the pliers worked but they lasted forever and chewed on the plastic . This cheap head works pretty well and saves me the trouble of inventing new swear words every time I want to avoid having to pay someone for an oil change. I don't think it will work far beyond its intended…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires bushing

Just a well made outlet for the money

Low profile and well made I can see. I still consider Snap Ons, at least as they were produced in the 80's and 90's, to be the gold standard of an outlet of sorts. The best heads are very precisely sized and made of very hard but not brittle steel and will never round their own grooves or the head of a bolt (assuming it's made reasonably well). I don't know if it's in that upper range, but so far it definitely seems solid. Keep in mind that while it looks like a shock bushing due to its black…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
