Misleading picture of item

Mine does not have "MADE IN USA" as shown in the picture of a similar item. I suspect it's outsourced to Taiwan now, the yoke is at least just threaded in.

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • Slightly torn

great product for the money.

Great tool and the material used was much better than I expected. To be honest there is no easier way to flare double flared tubing. This product worked as advertised and intended.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • old

Follow the instructions!

Open the Flare tool and find the instructions. Follow them and you will have the most beautiful double dazzle you have ever seen. Bought a very expensive torch tool a long time ago, always had to replace the most used tip because it broke. Not with that! That works great.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Obsolete

Lisle Double Flare Tool Review 31310

This is a well made product that includes improvements over previous unnamed units I have owned. Both the tube holder and flaring tool require a wrench to tighten, eliminating the need for wing nuts and stems that always bend or break. The base of the flaring tool is heavy to prevent bending.

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Can be improved a little but still better than most

I only had to return it b/c when you tighten the blocks they are not even. This forces and forces you to keep an eye on the two blocks to make sure they line up evenly. The lack of wing nuts makes this one of the best. One way to solve this problem is to slowly tighten both nuts, using a vise as you tighten to keep them aligned. Otherwise there will be no hole in the dead center of the pipe when expanding.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Disappointed in Lyle on this one.

It "can" work with 3/16" or 1/4" cupro nickel and aluminum brake lines, but I needed stainless steel fuel lines. When it was delivered, I noticed that the packaging said"Not suitable for stainless steel pipes.". What about "soft" (annealed) 304 or 316 stainless steel tubing? Annealed stainless steel can actually be more ductile than mild steel, so it would be helpful if Lisle could clarify her statement on the use of stainless steel (e.g. type, tube size, maximum wall thickness, etc.). "built…

Pros
  • Great value
Cons
  • Big and bulky
