Does almost impossible work and just makes it tough

It seems like it would be easier to slip between the end of the parking brake cable and the spring, but at least in my case the spring was so incredibly strong that I had to try with a drawing and a screwdriver to create at least a small space to insert the tool. But after a few dozen tries, I finally succeeded. I can't imagine how to do that without such a tool.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Nothing

Just the thing for Cobalt rear brake pads! It is necessary!

I was struggling to fit a brake pad on my wife's 2008 Cobalt. I knew what I had to do, I knew what tools I needed, but I didn't have them. I must have spent 3 hours on this alone, tried using every tool I had, tried to compress the emergency brake spring and failed. I ordered this tool and in 10 minutes assembled the entire drum. As they say, you need the right tool for the job!

Pros
  • Very good price

  • Vulgarity

Pin holder for tools and equipment

I have always been able to compress the parking brake cable spring by hand or pliers. However, the strong short spring on my Buick made me angry. It saved a life. I may not need it for all braking work, but it was a necessity this time. I pinched my fingers and tried all the pliers in my tool box but couldn't get this particular spring to fit. Has always managed in the past but this made it so easy that I wish I had bought a brake job many years ago.

Pros
  • Industry leading
Cons
  • Available in white only

Need 2 more people

Parking brake cable needs to be removed on my 1980 Camaro with POSI. This tool allows you to compress the spring to remove the parking brake lever. Well, there was NO SKILL to make it work with one person. It could not be inserted into the front of the spring. I had to hold the end of the cable in a vise, use my other hand to pull the spring back, and then ask an assistant to insert the tool into the gap between the springs. Once he entered I was able to compress the spring to remove the lever.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far

A specialized tool is worth it!

Exactly what I've been looking for the past few weeks and found at Revain yesterday. The closest I found was $90 (I'll probably never need it again). I spent the night with Prime and it worked as I hoped. I have a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus LXI. It is almost impossible to retract the EB cable spring yourself. But it is possible with this versatile emergency braking tool. I will probably never use it again because I will never work on a car with drum brakes again! And I'm just working on my personal…

This tool is EXACTLY what I needed - a cheap little miracle :)

I've knocked the ever-loved tar out of my hands, tried wrenches, pliers and everything else imaginable to try and get the nut off the Separate the spring on the emergency brake cable. I didn't have a second pair of hands to help, and even if I did, the pen was TUT. This thing is like a surgeon's hand that goes straight to the problem and solves the problem with precision and ease. I actually messed it up by connecting the cable wrong (my fault) but with this tool it was an easy fix. I may never
