Never buy an old-fashioned can light again

You can call these pancake lights, pot lights, waffle lights, glass lights or just ceiling lights. I have installed them in the dining room, office and now Master's pantry. In the theater room project, we used 4 inch mini canned lights. How I wish I had known about these pancakes before this project! They have greater light output, better light distribution, lower power consumption (13W), greater positioning flexibility (can be installed in very flat spots) and are much easier to install. I got

I do not recommend. Low hum, fade is not smooth, too orange for 2700K

These lights are going back. I was forced to look for a low profile solution after opening the ceiling to find a duct meant to hold 2 lamps. I was looking for solutions and found these well tested lights there on Revain. I hoped that would save me. The first problem was that the lighting required a much smaller opening than the standard 6" old tin I was trying to install. PIA replaced the drywall around the hole, but you have to do what you have to do. I *think* these spotlights would fit in a…

  • Ultra-bright, dimmable LEDs consume 12.7W and deliver 780 lumens at a CRI of 80. Reduces brightness by up to 10% and is compatible with select Lutron, Levitron, , Synergy and Touch switches compatible
Cons
  • Expensive

These lights are just what I needed. After much research and brightness calculations, I settled on lamps with a lower lumen output based on the amount of light I wanted and the square footage of my kitchen. The description claims that the low lumen lamps emit 940 lumens. That is not right. All the ones I received clearly stated 850 lumens on the packaging. However, I added to my calculations and thought that if it was too bright, the LED's digital dimmer could soften it for me. Even with a…

Dimmer Selection Requires list provided by Acuity

Tested but not yet installed. The kit did not include a safety cable/wire between the flashlight frame and the driver box as shown in the photo. Looks easy to install. Most will require a dimmer for that 75 watt equivalent. Potentially an excellent unit when LEDs and driver electronics do not experience early failures up to a nominal 36,000 hours. Life; the corresponding Acuity warranty is 3 years provided the driver module is replaceable. Acuity Brand Support (owner of Lithonia) recommends the
