Seems to work pretty well. I bought them because my sewing machine (which hasn't been used in over 20 years, thanks mom!) started investing in the backing of the quilts I sewed. i got them, put one in the bobbin case and started sewing, even with normal sewing i can see my stitches look better even though i check the thread tension and type. I tested polyester thread with cotton and different weights, every stitch looked great and I didn't even get to quilting.
