Bought this to replace a fancy hydration system for a long hike and it was great! The slight downside is that it doesn't stay attached to the magnetic clip, but that's not a big deal - it's a lot easier than pulling a water bottle out of a backpack, and a lot cheaper than expensive systems. For 7 weeks I used this with a basic water bottle (lightweight and inexpensive).

This is exactly what I was looking for. Simply remove the cap from your smart water bottle, screw it on and voila. instant humidification system. The magnetic clip is very strong and I have enough tubing to fit my bottle in the side pocket of my backpack and I can easily connect the mouthpiece to my chest strap. 10/31/21 update: I've kept using this - why not? I had it, perhaps despite the chemical flavors noted below and from other buyers. I'm not sure if the chemicals got into my system, but after a few sips and washing, that weird taste went away. Converting a standard plastic bottle into a hydration system is very convenient and there are no leaks. It is limited by the size of the bottle neck. Additional adapter dimensions expand the use. This adapter does not work at all as expected. The whistle makes the water taste TERRIBLE. It's like drinking out of a tire. The bite valve is awkward and difficult to activate, and the on-off valve twists too easily so it pops open and locks itself when you try to drink from it. The cap area has no pressure valve to prevent vacuum inside the bottle. Suction builds up quickly and it's very difficult to pull anything out.
