LOccitane Shaving Enriched Essential Butter Review

As the L'Occitane website says, not only the packaging has changed. I have an old cream and the smell is completely different and very strong. It smells like L'Occitane body wash and lasts all day so hopefully won't give you a headache. If I wanted perfume or cologne, I would buy it. I'm surprised, like most people, that they change a product that was perfect. This now gives the competition a chance and I'll be looking at other products specifically for this price range.

Excellent consistency and aroma - somewhat woody, but not overpowering. I think women will like it as much as men. I use it with the badger brush and mostly on the go. A small piece gives a lot of foam. This product is a bit pricey but the L'Occitane brand is of excellent quality and a large tube should last you for several months. I bought a metal key to go with it - it definitely makes it easier to use.

This is the best shaving cream on the market. It might be a bit pricey, but it's worth it. My husband has tried several others but keeps coming back to this brand. I originally bought L'Occitane Cade Shaving Cream, 5.2 oz. With essential organic juniper oil. I assumed I bought the same but this version is a low quality product. Terrible smell. It's my own fault for not looking more closely at the label. I have repurchased this item in the past with no problems. Since I reordered using the original purchase link, I thought everything would be fine. A product containing juniper essential oils is fine, but not this product.

I have been using this product exclusively for 15 years now. About 8-10 years ago they changed the formula and the users rebelled. They made it watery and thin while it was very thick due to the large amount of shea butter. At the time, they said they would "add more organic ingredients," which turned out to be water. This is my favorite super deluxe shaving cream - I buy it for Christmas and my birthday. Great smooth feel and smell. The rest of the time I use Cremo, with the same smooth feel but not as pleasant smell. However, it is 75% cheaper than L'Occitane. I said the last one was super luxury! The less you use, the more slippery it gets! I combine it with a Dorco electric shaver and vanity mirror to shave in the shower, all Revain of course.

Don't make too many reviews, especially unsolicited. But this point deserves comment. I have used dozens of quality shaving creams/soaps over the past 20 years and enjoy trying new ones. But this one is going to be my favorite. I've always dealt with the occasional ingrown mustache on my face and embraced it as part of the shaving experience.
