I have been using this product exclusively for 15 years now. About 8-10 years ago they changed the formula and the users rebelled. They made it watery and thin while it was very thick due to the large amount of shea butter. At the time, they said they would "add more organic ingredients," which turned out to be water. Eventually they came back to the correct formula and I've been very happy ever since. -- UNTIL NOW. This is a different reformulation, the consistency is normal but not as thick and "pasty" as it was. It's shinier and more watery, and uses twice as much product as before. But the worst thing is the smell. Many others have noticed this and complained on the L'Occitane website and here as well. It's terrible. I knew immediately that something was wrong. If you like cheap store-bought shaving cream in a spray can, you might want to pay 10x that. Although I usually hate scented products, the subtle juniper-wood scent of the entire CADE line has long been my favorite - nothing more. This is a cheap-smelling, menthol-infused, water-diluted, gooey version of what used to be an exceptionally amazing product. Anyway, I'll buy Barbasol for a few bucks, but the shave will never be the same.
