This is not an entry level lock ring wrench. This is a high quality professional tool that can be seen in any good bike shop. Unless you have a well stocked workbench and a few years of cycling experience, this tool is probably more than what you need.

Some older headsets have notches, their snap rings have 3 notches like a BB snap ring. On the one hand this tool is designed for BB, on the other (smaller) there are now (fortunately) very rare geared headset retaining rings that cannot be removed or installed without such a tool.
