The house cleaning kit I received was crushed (not delivered). Whilst I understand this does not affect the product itself, unfortunately this was intended as a Christmas present for someone along with their new Dutch oven. Not only will it look bad to the recipient (perhaps used or worse, given as a new gift), but it will also be difficult to look decent in the boxed state (you should see my boxing ineptitude, ha!). I'll try to return it for an exchange but I'm not sure if that will work.

I purchased the Dutch Oven and Care Kit as a wedding gift for a former Boy Scout in my squad to use in his new home. He liked the dishes we cooked in cast-iron braziers. When I watched the cleaning video of this ceramic coated version I was sure he would like it. This eliminates the special care of conventional cast-iron fire bowls. The instructions that came with the product explained very well how to use and clean it, with the heat setting recommended for a domestic stove.

This product works well but requires effort and effort to remove burnt fat. I've used my 7 liter Le Creuset in a bread oven quite a bit and grease has set in and won't come off with regular soap and water. I applied the cleaner and then cleaned the pot with the supplied brush and some water. I then scraped off the grease with a hard plastic scraper and rinsed the pan clean. It will definitely take a little effort, but you should be able to get the stains out of the pan.
