I'm not very advanced but I'm starting to do a lot more cross stitch projects. I needed something to organize my embroidery floss. It looked like a great system, but when I brought it home I didn't know what to do with it! I think you should cut the thread before placing it on the card, but I don't use the same length of thread every time, so I don't want to cut everything before I start. Back in the 80's and 90's I found this system and I never found anything better. I have 3 Lo-Ran binders each filled with Master Cards containing together all the colors of embroidery floss that DMC produces, in numerical order, cut to the perfect length for sewing (easy to do by dividing the skein back into two Fold in half and fold again until length is about 20 inches, then trim loops top and bottom) and secure in marked hole with half punch.
