Call me a tin-hat maniac, but a report of a salesman holding a phone in his lap and developing testicular cancer made me play it safe. Aluminum is a very effective RF shield - just don't wrap your phone in it unless you want to block all calls. But as a shield between the body and the phone, it works well and skips calls.
