Buyer Warning/Remorse

I bought this jar to store dairy which is recommended after opening evaporated milk or cans of evaporated milk. The main reasons I bought this product was that firstly it was glass and secondly the lid that covered the product for refrigerated storage. The lid doesn't close at all, if tilted with the lid closed prepare yourself for a terrible mess. I repeat in general, no matter how you twist it, as if there were no cover at all. The lid you can spot has a super cheap plastic construction that…

The cap does not seal. just floats in the neck of the jar

★ from my grandmother in Oregon March 24, 2017 The lid doesn't seal anything... Just floats in the neck of the jar. It's a small picture... Not the size of a liter as is usual for this price point. I got one star for several reasons. Worst of all, the lid doesn't seal anything... It's just plastic floating in the collar of the jar. I had to wrap the cap in cling film to prevent leakage when moving it in the fridge. I wish I could give this a zero, especially since the image header is useless…

I love it! for carafes and jugs

I use 4 of them in the fridge. two with water, one with tea and one with lemon water. They don't. The lid snaps to float on top and you can twist it without pulling it out to pour. They drip a little. So I always water where it's okay. But with durability and lightness, these things are amazing! I always put them in the bottom rack of the dishwasher when I want to wash them and I always hand wash the caps. They rise well over time. I don't know how many years I had the first two, but a few. I…

Well made - almost perfect size.

Before I get into the review, I just want to clear up an apparent confusion: the container (glass) is made in France, while the lid (plastic) is made in China. . There's nothing unusual about that. I used to have an old standard 64-ounce pitcher for my wife's iced tea, but it took up too much fridge space and was too heavy when full for her to pour easily. She likes it since the jar is lighter and the overall weight is less since it holds about 8 ounces less liquid. It just means I have to make

The best type of pitcher I've used in 18 years!

I really like this type of pitcher. This is my third. Still using the first 2 I bought over 18 years ago! I like the thick glass walls and floor. I pour hot coffee straight in without brewing, but only if the pot is already room temperature, not cold. I do not take a jug out of the fridge and pour a very hot liquid into it. In this case, I recommend using tap water to heat it from cold to warm, then at least it's ready for hot liquid. However, I would not pour boiling water into one of these…
