This is complete nonsense. They will not work with most fans sold today. Install them on the fan, turn it on and BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZ at any speed. If you have a very old fan, like before manufacturers started using modern electronic components, this might be a good choice for you.

The derailleur is listed as a three speed low, mid or high speed derailleur. No, that is not so! This is a stepless switch. It also makes an awful buzz. This may not cause some fans to hum, but I have two fans in my room and another has an older dimmer that is completely silent. hands off it!

Product description says low, medium and high speed. I thought I'd order a 3 speed derailleur. What I got was stepless control that made the ceiling fan motor very noisy. The range of speeds I get with the fan is very narrow and none of them even come close to being low. As soon as I get the best, I'll take it.
