I put new batteries in, pressed the power button and nothing happened. I have checked that the batteries are OK. They were fine and when I pressed the power button again the EL blinked for a second and turned off. On closer inspection, I noticed that the cables connected to the power supply were completely frayed. The only thing holding the wire is a thin piece of rubber screen. Because of the price, it's not worth returning this horribly made product. A complete waste of money.

Boo! Calling it trash would be a compliment. It's probably defective as it only glows very dimly in small half inch sections and those sections go out and flicker. When it bends Also the whistling of the high frequency transformer is terrible. I have an almost 20 year old EL string that doesn't howl and burn through half as much. For example, what should be better and cheaper after about 2 decades after such crap?! This will be returned to the seller. I don't recommend at all.

This wire worked great. I turned this into a neon sign and it was an AMAZING Christmas gift! I ordered it in orange and the color was vibrant and true to the picture. The wire is thin and pliable, it bends very easily (without breaking!) so it can be used for many purposes. I hot glued it to the wireframe I formed and it held up great.
