Perfect functionality, almost perfect design.

Case works as expected. It is currently used on a Mac that does not require third-party drivers to be installed. The drive is firmly and securely fastened inside the case. The aluminum body is durable and pleasing to the eye. Comes with a FireWire cable, a USB 2.0 cable, and a USB->DC cable. (Nice contact). The only complaint I have about this case is that the LED is too bright. This thing can light up a dark room. The front and back of the case are cheap plastic, not aluminum. Finallyโ€ฆ

This is a good section Computers and accessories

This is my second block. i like them both I noticed one review saying these devices are convenient to use, trust me. They are very easy to use. The included documentation isn't even really needed. Like one of the other reviewers, I upgraded my powerbook and got a great ride, so the solution was obvious. I've searched the internet pretty thoroughly and couldn't find anything that good and at a reasonable price. The drive is easy to attach to the carriage, then simply insert the carriage into the

Worked great on a Mac Mini

Used to upgrade the hard drive in a Mac Mini PPC. Worked as expected, loaded via firewire. Most PDAs can't boot from USB, so this was the perfect solution. The speed seems almost as fast as if the drive were internal. The standard disk utilities in OS X worked great for formatting and transferring data. The blue/red/purple activity indicator was really too bright, maybe they could work on that. The processing quality is excellent, everything fits. I didn't need a driver disk or manual. Theโ€ฆ

Great product with a few features

I bought this case to restore my laptop's broken hard drive. When I received the device, my first impression was how well designed (and packaged) it was. The device has a very attractive design and is much smaller than I thought it would be. That's about the size of two of your regular $10 calculators stacked on top of each other. I have a device that communicates over a FireWire cable and is powered over a USB cable. Note that the USB "power" cable actually has a different "power adapter"โ€ฆ

This is a case for buying old Mac laptop drives

QUALIFICATIONS This case fits standard 2.5" IDE or PATA (Parallel ATA) laptop drives. For Macs, that means most iBooks and Powerbook G3s. G4 and G4 drives work. Do not buy this case if you have a drive installed in one of the newer MacBooks as they use the newer SATA (Serial ATA) technology for which Macally has a different product. Would anyone want to buy a hard drive enclosure that doesn't contain a hard drive? Mainly because you already have an extra internal drive and need an enclosure toโ€ฆ
