Mag Hytec 68RFE MAG HYTEC Transmission Pan Review

Bought this pan for a 2016 Ram 3500 with 68rfe gear. After installing the pan, about 4 liters of liquid remained in it, and the gearbox temperature dropped by about 20-25 degrees.

This is a nice looking and well built transmission pan but the claim that it lowers transmission temp is complete crap. The only reason to buy it is because it looks good, but it's under your truck where no one can see, so who cares. The only advantage is that it has a drain plug. So if you want to put 3 Benjamins behind the drain plug, do so.

No leakage. I have a factory leak after changing the fluid. Before switching to this pan, I wanted to know if the new pan would run colder, so I monitored my trance temp for 10 days with the factory pan. After installing this pan, I watched the temperature for a week and absolutely no difference. I have a very accurate pressure gauge so I wouldn't buy one for colder temperatures because there is no difference.

Very heavy, EXCELLENT fit and finish. In fact, there is no temperature difference, except that it takes a little longer to reach normal operating temperature. It maintains a more constant temperature while towing. Adding 3 liters to the tank is a good thing for general use. My transmission engineer says this is the best brand of lids/pans. I'm saving a few cents for axle caps👍🏻

It fits my 2014 RAM 3500 6.7 perfectly after I adjusted the passenger side coolant hose bracket by about 1/2 inch to make room for a deeper pan. Great pan, no RTV required, use the included fiber pad. When I ordered this I read all these reviews about moving the transmission lines to the side. At least on the 2018 Cummins 68RFE 4x4 they didn't even need to be touched, I dried the gasket pan with one hand and the 6"1/4" extension cover screws started smoothly.
