Limited Regional Availability

The problem with this product is that you are limited to downloading four 16MB areas totaling 64MB to the SD card. You cannot upload a 64MB region. If you are touring a large part of the country or going on a longer trip, consider breaking it up into parts. It's a shame that Magellan has limited its software expansion options when larger SD cards become available. This stopped me from upgrading my existing portable GPS. These devices are not really infinitely expandable as advertised.

Pros
  • Product Type: GPS or Navigation Accessory
Cons
  • No Performance

Good product at a reasonable price

I am surprised by the negative reviews on this product. I find this software very useful and relatively accurate. Another option is [Price] built-in color GPS and maps in your car. Compare prices and added value and you will be very satisfied with this product. Living in the Chicago area, I often get lost. However, thanks to my Magellan GPS and Mapsend Streets, I've never wandered aimlessly. It may even have saved me from serious harm once or twice. Good thing. Buy boldly!

Pros
  • Pack quantity: 1
Cons
  • Security

GPS is great - software [bad]

I recently bought a Magellan Meridian Platinum GPS and it works great. The MapSend software is horribly buggy and useless in my opinion. For example: Near my house on the west coast, they show a Wendy's restaurant in the wetlands. In the community I grew up in in New Jersey, the program invents street courses where none exist. In addition, the layout of the streets will differ greatly from reality. The software reminds me of Japanese English where it looks like someone is trying to "translate"…

Pros
  • Data can then be updated or overwritten with new map regions
