📀 Efficient Entertainment: Magnavox MWD2205 DVD/VCR Combination Player Review

My device arrived as advertised, like new. We almost packed the remote control and all the necessary cables. It only took a few minutes to set up and now my wife and I can enjoy our family VHS videos from back then.

When I searched the internet for information I was specifically looking for something that could copy a VCR to DVD. Someone else asked this question and the answer was yes. When I was looking at this VCR/DVD player, a picture showed the remote control and the cables that came with it. Got the player today. BUT! It didn't come with a remote control or cable. I feel like I have been the victim of misrepresentation and have been deceived. I would never buy something like this without a remote control. I am both angry and disappointed.

Buying used is always a risk, maybe yes, maybe not. The DVD player worked perfectly, the VHS player played choppy pictures and there was little or no sound. I'm sending it back. Incidentally, the information provided by Revain didn't say it didn't have a remote control, but it did. Revane gave me $20 for the remote control. The picture also showed cables, but they weren't. If this machine was $20 I could open the case and clean the VHS heads, which is probably a fix fix, but not for $95.

I don't know why but this DVD player plays DVDs my other players can't. I have two Sony DVD players and two Panasonic DVD players and a JVC TV with a DVD player that won't play some of my old DVDs. They used to play them, but they started skipping entire parts of the movies or just stopped playing some of them altogether. This Maganavox device will play DVDs that others will not. It has a basic remote control and actually a useful set of control buttons on the front of the device.

I ordered my first VHS/DVD combo player and when I received it the VHS side was not working. The company replaced him with another player as soon as possible, which was very nice of them. But the second side of the VHS worked for about a week and then stopped working again. Disappointing because I really need it for a VHS player! We needed a VHS/DVD kit to replace ours which after a few years would not play. This one said it worked well, but by the time it got to our house, loosely packaged, we had tried it. The first two times I put the cassette in, it stopped and turned itself off when I pressed the play button. The third time it didn't eject the whole tape and when I pulled it out the tape was broken. Go through the returns/defects process and get a return receipt stating that you have to pay for the return shipping.
