Do not recommend this product

Magnavox USED to be a very reliable name in electronics. I never burn CDs so it's not a problem. However, this thing barely works with our TV. The remote control is difficult to use, also you have to use the channel selector on the TV and connect the AUX port to make it work. It is not possible to "pause" for an arbitrary time as pressing the "play" button again will revert the TV to a blank DVD screen. I KNOW I'm using it correctly because we have Sanyo on the living room TV.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Looks like I have all the features I need

The remote they sent is not the one and I can only use this unit because I still have the older unit's remote and I combine 2 must in order to be able to use it. The old picture on the left, the new one on the right (with hard drive). The unit allows you to record by timer, which is good, and will record to HDD if the problem is with the DVD (the "cannot burn to this disc" message is preventing you from using that DVD). I would like a remote control that fits.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Suspicious! for TV and video

I ordered this DVD burner from Blue Donuts through Revain. Advertised as factory refurbished. When something is fixed there is usually a sticker in the owner's manual or a piece of paper or SOMETHING that says so. There is absolutely no indication on the device that I received that it was repaired. Which of course makes me a little suspicious. As far as I know you can just use it, which is not at all what I wanted. It definitely looks used, with scratches, chips, etc. On the plus side, it…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Useless features

Great offer. - TV & Video

This is the second unit I have bought and it works great. I do a lot of filming and had to replace a very old recorder that was dying. One feature I really like is that it has 2.5 and 3 hour recording modes in addition to the usual 2, 4 and 6 hour recording modes. Also. This means that a film that can be five or ten minutes longer than two hours does not have to be shot in four hours. In response to some negative reviews, I say: know what you are buying in advance. Like most recorders sold…

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Damaged

Your TV must have a component for this to work.

My Magnavox ZC320MW8B progressive scan linear DVD±RW recorder arrived on time and in good condition. This device works great. There is no coax cable on the back. There's no clock on the front, but there is an internal clock that you can use to program the DVD burner to turn on at the right time. You can burn to DVD and set up multi-speed recording, from 1 hour to 6 hours. 1 hour mode uses all of the disc's storage space, so I tend to burn everything in 6 hour mode. Your TV must have a component

Pros
  • Solid construction

  • So far so good

VHS Tape to DVD Performance

I bought this to convert old VHS to DVD. He did exactly what I needed. You can set it to pick up and leave. There are options to add chapters and titles to the DVD before finalizing it. The user interface isn't as simple as a computer software, but that's to be expected when using the remote control. It also has a handy automatic chapter skip feature. In fact, our VHS tapes contain many different events. There is usually some kind of static or blank screen between events. The auto chapter…

Pros
  • Handy Thing
Cons
  • Infinitely Slow

Great for storing VHS tapes

Bought primarily to transfer old VHS tapes to DVD. Worked like a charm, although the UI is poorly documented and often opaque. I often got stuck at first where I couldn't get to the right menus and ended up having to power cycle or eject/reinsert the disc. This was solved by pressing the stop button between operations even if the DVD wasn't burning or playing, and there was no logical reason for that. Can't beat the price. Excellent cable transmission quality (not HD) - works with all channels…
