This is the second unit I have bought and it works great. I do a lot of filming and had to replace a very old recorder that was dying. One feature I really like is that it has 2.5 and 3 hour recording modes in addition to the usual 2, 4 and 6 hour recording modes. Also. This means that a film that can be five or ten minutes longer than two hours does not have to be shot in four hours. In response to some negative reviews, I say: know what you are buying in advance. Like most recorders sold today, it doesn't have a tuner, meaning you'll need a cable or satellite box or digital converter. It doesn't record in HD. This is an inexpensive, basic, no-frills recorder. If that's all you need, it should be easy.
