Magnetic Parallel Keepers Holders Machinist Review

Now I use them every day. The fixed jaw on my GMT vise isn't deep enough to fit snugly against the parallels, but they still do.

I expected more from these magnets. It was partly my fault for not checking the size before purchasing. However, having worked with other strong magnets, I know that size doesn't always determine strength. These are really weak magnets, they don't stay in place. I was hoping for better quality by advertising them as machinist tools.

Upgraded! The originals weren't strong enough, they have extra magnetic holding power and work perfectly. The only downside is that shavings will stick to the magnets, but this is much better than a parallel holder or a steel band between the vise jaws. If you're working with multiple parts, that's great, you don't have to worry about your parallels going up and down and the chips falling under. They stay down. They are great for 1/8" and 1/4" parallel. 1/2 inch they work, but with a stretch.
