Stops working after a few days

I bought three of these and they all worked at first then stopped working after a few days. Then there is a short return window so I didn't even have time to return them.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

QuickBooks charged me $60 when I just needed that!

QuickBooks told me cheap aftermarket products wouldn't work. So I bought one of their expensive devices (credit card reader). And then I decided to take a chance and order one of these as we needed a second one. And "Bam!" what you know works fine! I've had this machine for about six months to a year. No problem

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • It's OK

That's fine, but I've lived with others for much longer.

Multiple readers used. This worked pretty well for about 5 months. I plugged it back into my car and the unit turned on a solid green light. However, nothing was received when reading the cards. I've tried it on multiple machines and also a basic program like Notepad with no input. It's great, but with other readers I've lived much longer.

Doesn't automatically fill in form fields correctly on sites like Stripe, PayPal, etc. My job is to swipe the document in plain text and then copy/paste the correct information from the data. It's not a perfect solution anyway, but it's better than squinting trying to enter the card number manually. We are currently working…

Good CABLE! suitable for office electronics

Somehow I haven't seen any reviews that talk about USB cable quality on any of these mini credit card readers. The people who make them, including this manufacturer, don't describe the cable either. So when you buy one, you don't know what to expect until it arrives. My first reader was made from the same stronger cable and lasted 3 years. The last 2 from OTHER manufacturers worked but the cable on them was very thin and that eventually failed after a year of use. My office is mobile and the…
