This is a gift for my 7 year old grand nephew. I'm sure he'll like it; However, it is difficult for me to read the face because it is dark. I would like a lighter background for contrast.

I bought this as a gift for my son because the verse on it turned out to be his Bible verse which he had chosen for his confirmation! It was just a cop to be him! It is very well made, excellent engraving quality and has a decent weight! so not cheap!

Really nice keepsake. I bought this for my nephew's confirmation. It's heavy and well made. Love bible verse lettering. Must be very flat to work with a compass but properly aligned. Exactly what I was looking for. The leather case is a great addition!

I gave this marine style compass to my 12 year old grandson. The compass and prayer of devotion really touched him. There was complete silence as he shared the compass and prayed over his celebratory dinner, followed by applause. The compass is nice, easy to use and weighted. Leather case with belt loop makes it versatile. After that I bought a black metal watch hanger. It now stands on its bookshelf with a crate at the base.

The lettered lid is made of stamped metal and has a very sharp edge that could cut your finger if you slide along the edge. When opening and closing the lid, the hinge broke as shown in the picture. perfect gift for a 9 year old boy who is going to be baptized wanted to. He loved it. The package was VERY tightly wrapped, many layers. I started unfolding it, but decided that the young man would like the process of opening all the layers. Too bad I didn't unroll it fully before giving it to him as it looked very tarnished when it finally got to the compass. It was a disappointment but the gift fit the occasion. The verse was also perfect since his name was Joshua.
