I have two slippery little Chihuahuas and if anything moves under their feet they go nuts. The steps are not very safe, so they are afraid of them and will not use them. Although they look good.

My agile 2 year old Bichon Shih Tzu was perfectly able to hop onto my 27" bed. However, when I bought a 2" mattress topper that makes my bed a giant 29" bounce, it became more hesitant and I worry it may eventually hurt itself. Our 15 year old dog has trouble getting onto the bed. No longer! These pet ladders work well, they're just the right height for our bed, and they're easy to move. They appear to be well made and sturdy, and strong enough for our small 15 pound pet.

My 10 year old 5 1/2 lb Yorkie had a little trouble with it. The material is nice but seems quite slick/slick which she needs to get used to and the steps are very narrow (6 inches) and steep making her very careful using them although I'm sure she will get used to it over time. Your desire to sit on my bed will likely outweigh your fears in the end. My mattress is 28 inches from floor to top. Steps 20 inches leaving an 8 inch jump from the top step to the bed.
