Bought to replace an accidentally smoked SSD1306. I figured buying four would give me an extra bonus in case it happened again. This was a good deal for many projects that needed to be exhibited. I currently use three of the four. I just wish the screens were a little bigger. My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be. Otherwise they are good and I would recommend them.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Not all fit

Great kit for the money

I'm new to DIY electronics projects. I have several different Arduino boards and components. I made a temperature/humidity sensor reader using one of these OLED displays because they use relatively little power. The screens come in separate plastic boxes which are great for storage and the Dupont wires help with that. NOTE: PLEASE follow the instructions given by Glen regarding the screen. When I first ran this, the display was offset slightly vertically. You only need to add a few lines toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Works with standard SSD1306 driver! - Tips to avoid disappointment

I had a lot of trouble getting this to work with the Micropython SSD driver. The screen just stayed black even though i2c.scan recognized the device ID 0x3c. I assumed that the SSD1315 was not compatible with the SSD1306 initialization code (read on - it's not!). I finally gave up and went for a smaller display based on the SSD1306. When I finally got the ssd1306 working I switched back to this display and it worked using the exact same code! Simple, practical, beautifully bright display. Theโ€ฆ

100% Error - Computer Components

I have read all the reviews that say these things are easy to install and use. Today I spent hours debugging these devices on ESP32. I've tried all different SSD1306 libraries and I2C addresses. (Yes, it's all 0x3c). But both units are defective. Both only display random bits. I've tried running it at 32 pixels as some people have noted - same result. I've tried running them on several different ESP32 boards - same result. I want to return those three hours ago. It's too late to return theseโ€ฆ
