I have read all the reviews that say these things are easy to install and use. Today I spent hours debugging these devices on ESP32. I've tried all different SSD1306 libraries and I2C addresses. (Yes, it's all 0x3c). But both units are defective. Both only display random bits. I've tried running it at 32 pixels as some people have noted - same result. I've tried running them on several different ESP32 boards - same result. I want to return those three hours ago. It's too late to return these two screens, so money is wasted. I bought some replacement blocks from another seller, I hope they will work. I'll update this later when they do. Update: I bought two more units from another supplier and they worked great when I plugged them into the exact same circuit in the photo. So now I know that my installation is not the cause of both Makerfocus devices failing.
