The sound comes from them!

They sound better than you might think given their size, but don't expect miracles. The sound from the Raspberry Pi sucks already, so if you run it through a 3W amp and plug it into these speakers, it's not HiFi if you know what I mean. But they're small and they work and they're easy to plug in. Fastening with straps. I have no complaints.

Surprisingly good for home cinema use

I needed a very small speaker for a DFMini MP3 player project. I hooked one up and it worked pretty well. I connected a second speaker and the MP3 player drew about three times the current. This is a problem with the MP3 player, not the speaker. A speaker in mono mode is sufficient for this. It's a bit pricey but not bad for what it is.

Incredible volume and deep bass for OQO umpc.

These 3W MakerHawk 8 ohm speakers are designed for 3.3V and 5V Arduino projects, but I can confirm that they work as general purpose speakers for audio projects. I'm hoping to pick a few to add to my OQO model 02 umpc. I chose 8 ohm speakers because they require less power and also because my umpc's built in sound card is designed to drive a single wafer thin piezo speaker.
