Not Worth the Industrial Investment

Bought this finish nailer for my Industrial and Scientific work only to be disappointed. After I put it to the test, it started to jam periodically, making my work more complicated. The pros: lightweight and easy-to-use. Unfortunately, the cons outweighed the positives, and I regret buying this product.

Pros
  • Powerful and reliable performance with a maintenance-free motor
Cons
  • Expensive compared to similar models from other brands

Insufficient power

I have 10 Makita tools, 8 cordless, 2 electric. This is the first and only tool from Makita that let me down. Got this to replace a 25 year old handyman. I bought a pneumatic device because I couldn't justify the cost of a cordless tool for a small project. Even at 120 pounds, this tool is not capable of fully driving 2.5" or 2" flush or countersunk nails. I nail T&G cedar siding to plywood. I need a nail set for almost every nail. The craftsman did a great job driving nails until one day he…

Pros
  • Efficient motor design gives better power
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

This is the first pneumatic nailer I've bought and I was pleasantly surprised Energy . Reviews that criticize various nail guns for uneven nailing often cite hardwoods like oak as particularly problematic. I've tested this on oak baguette ingredients as well as 3/4 inch oak boards. It drives nails perfectly even into 3/4" thick oak. While I simultaneously hold the gun firmly against the material, it drives the nails to a very constant depth. Depth adjusters I have the oak bar and 3/4" oak with…

Pros
  • Built-in air gun provides a comfortable airflow for cleaning work surfaces
Cons
  • Easily torn
