Ideal for the right application.

Makita doesn't sell a brushless version of this driver in the States, but that doesn't mean it's bad. This is a great driver and has good speed control off the trigger. I use it to work with RC and HVAC vehicles. The sleeve prevents plastic or self-tapping screws from being pulled out. It's light, compact and my wife can use it much more comfortably than my xdt16.

Light and well made

I bought it for its lightness and I wasn't disappointed. With a Makita 1.5 volt battery, it is so comfortable to hold and has quickly become my favorite drill. And in Makita quality. Even though it's only 12 volts, it's fine for most of my household purposes. Please note that this item only uses a 12V battery. So if you are looking for a powerful drill then this is not it. You should look for Makita 18V tools.

Before I continue, let me say that I bought this drill driver myself, I was not offered a fee for this review and so on. In short, the opinions contained herein, apart from not being scientific, are my own and my own only. My experience shows that the 12v line complements my 18v line very well. Just this summer I built two large swings for close friends and…
